1) floods are the solids like faces settled at the bottom are moved with a scrapper. this is the sludge . it is treated by skimmer which remove the floatable solids like oil and grease . it is transferred to a separate and where it is decomposed by anaerobic bacteria .

2) purpose of pumping air in aeration tank during the treatment of sewage to help the anaerobic bacteria to grow.
