given:

perimeter= 94

to find:

length and breadth

solution:

since the length is 3m less than 4 times the breadth, so the equation for length would be:

length= 4*breadth-3

Now, as we know that perimeter of a rectangle is twice the sum of its length and breadth. therefore, the perimeter will be:

perimeter of rectangle= 2(l+b)

since perimeter of rectangle is 94 m

94= 2{(4b-3)+b}

94= 10b-6

10b=100

b=10

from the equation of length we can find out:

l= 4b-3

l=40-3

l= 37

therefore length of rectangle= 37 m

and breadth= 10 m
