  (a) length = 35 cm     breadth = 12 cm

  (b) length = 12 m     breadth = 5 m

  (c) length = 24 m     breadth = 7 m

2. The perimeter of a rectangle is 326 cm and its length is 98 cm. Find its breadth and area.

3. The perimeter of a rectangle is 50 m and its breadth is 12 m. Find its length and area.

4. The length and diagonal of a rectangle are 40 cm and 41 cm. Find its breadth and perimeter.

5. Find the breadth and perimeter of a rectangle if its length is 36 m and its area is 540 m².

6. Find the length and perimeter of a rectangle if its breadth and area are 19 m and 475 m².

7. The sides of a rectangle are in the ratio 4 : 5 and its perimeter is 90 cm. Find the dimensions of the rectangle and hence its area.

8. The sides of a rectangle are in the ratio 3 : 7 and its area is 1029 m². Find the dimensions of the rectangle, and then find its perimeter.

9. Find the cost of fencing a rectangle garden at the rate of $7.50 per m if its length and breadth are in the ratio 4: 3 and its area is 1200 m².

10. Find the cost of flooring the verandah at the rate of $12 per m² if the length and breadth of the verandah are in the ratio 3 : 2 and its perimeter is 40 m.

Answers:

1. (a) 94 cm, 420 cm², 37 cm

(b) 34 m, 60 m², 13 m

(c) 62 m, 168 m², 25 m

2. b = 65 cm, A = 6370 cm²

3. l = 13 m, A =156 m²

4. b = 9 cm, P = 98 cm

5. b = 15 m, P = 102 m

6. l = 25 m, P = 88 m

7. l = 20 cm, b = 25 cm, A = 500 cm²

8. l = 21 m, b = 49 m, A = P = 140 m

9. $1050

The lenght of the rectangle=35

Breadth=12

Perimeter=2(l+b)

=2(35+12)=94

Area=l*b

=35*12=420
