Q) In a temple there are 25 cylindrical pillars. The Radius of each pillar is 28cm and the height is 4cm. Find the total cost of painting the curved surface area of pillars at the rate of 8 per metre square (take pi=22/7)​

We have,

r= radius of cylindrical pillar =28 cm= 28/100m

h= height of cylindrical pillar =4 m

∴ curved surface area of a cylindrical pillar = 2πrh=22/7 × 28/100 ×4cm 2

∴ Curved surface area of 25 pillar = 2× 22/7× 28/100 ×4×25m =176m

Hence, total cost of painting at the rate of Rs 8 per m 2

=Rs(176×8)=Rs 1408
