For question 2, ht. of triangle can be found using Pythagoras Theorem
3^2+x^2=12^2
x=±3√15 you neglect negative
x=3√15
Now area=1/2*base*ht
put your value of√15
Ans is 17.46 square units.
Similarly in second assume the side to be x and hypotenuse 14-x
Apply Pythagoras Theorem and x comes out to be 6.37 and then solve
