if (x - 1)is the factor of polynomial (2x^2+kx) find the value of k.

let (x-1) = x = +1

put the value of x. in the equation.

p(x)= 2x^2+kx

p(1)= 2.1^2+k.1

p(1)= 2+k

so the value of k = 2.
