Given

  • Weight (w) = 49 N
  • Acceleration due to gravity (g) = 9.8 m/s²

To Find

  • Mass (m)

Formula Used

  • F = m × g

Solution

➯ 49N = m × 9.8

➯ m = 49/9.8

➯ m = 5.0 kg

Therefore, the mass of that object will be 5.0 kg

Additional Information

  • The Force which attracts two bodies in the universe is because of the force which is called Gravitational Force
  • According to Newton, all the objects in this universe attracts each other and he said that it attracted with a force which is directly proportional to the product of their masses & inversely proportional to the square if distance between them.

Important Formulae

  • F = m × g
  • v = u + at
  • S = ut + ½at²
  • v² - u² = 2as

We have been told that the weight is \sf{49N}. And the acceleration is \sf{9.8 m/{s}^{2}}.

And are being asked to find the mass.

We know tue formula for finding the weight. We will use the same to find out the mass.

\large{\boxed{\implies{\sf{F = m \times g}}}}

Putting up the values we get :

\small{\longrightarrow{\sf{49N = m \times 9.8}}}

\small{\longrightarrow{\sf{m = \dfrac{49}{9.8}}}}

\small{\longrightarrow{\sf{m = \cancel{\dfrac{49}{9.8}}}}}

\small{\longrightarrow{\sf{m = 5.0 kg}}}

So the mass of the object is 5.0 kg

Supplementary information :

  • Mass is the amount of matter.

  • Acceleration is the rate of speed.

  • Weight is the measurement of force or garvitational force earth requires to pull our body onto itself.
