yes, Bismillah Khan really worked hard.
as a five year _year old, he would reguraly go to the nearby biharji temple to sing the bhojuri 'chaita'. he belongs to the well-known family of musicians from Bihar.the young boy took music early in life. at the age of three his mother took him to his maternal uncle's house in Benaras.

Bismillah was fascinated watching his uncle practice the shehnai.slowly, he started getting lessons in playing the instrument and would sit practicing throughout the day.for years to come the temple of balaji and Mangala maiya and the banks of the ganga became the apprentice's favorite haunts where he could practice in solitude.
the flowing waters of ganga inspired him to improvise and invent raagas that were considered to be beyond the range of the shehnai.

he wanted to go to his birthplace and the holly river Ganga. as he loves" INDIA".
