ಸಾರಾಂಶ: ಶ್ರೀವಿಜಯನು ಕನ್ನಡನಾಡಿನ ಜನರು ಪದದ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಅರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವುಳ್ಳವರು. ತಾವು ಆಡುವ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ನಡೆಯುವವರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಆ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಜನರು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯು ಚತುರರು, ಅವರು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯದಿದ್ದರು ಕಾವ್ಯವನ್ನು ರಚಿಸುವಷ್ಟು ಪರಿಣತಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯುಳ್ಳವರು ಎಂದು ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಗುಣ ವಿಶೇಷತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಾವ್ಯ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ವರ್ಣಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

ಸಾರಾಂಶ: ನಯಸೇನನು, ಕವಿಗಳು ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾವ್ಯವನ್ನು ರಚಿಸುವಾಗ ಕನ್ನಡದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಶಬ್ದಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಬಳಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅವನು, ಕಾವ್ಯ ರಚಿಸುವುದಾದರೆ ಶುದ್ಧ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ರಚಿಸಬೇಕು; ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತದಲ್ಲಿ ರಚಿಸಬೇಕು; ಶುದ್ಧವಾದ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತವನ್ನು ತಂದು ತುರುಕುವುದು ಸರಿಯೇ? ಇವೆರಡನ್ನು ಬೆರೆಸಿ ಕಾವ್ಯ ರಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅದು ಎಣ್ಣೆ-ತುಪ್ಪಗಳ ಅಸ್ವಾದ ಮಿಶ್ರಣವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ತನ್ನ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

ಸಾರಾಂಶ: ನೇಮಿಚಂದ್ರನು ಕವಿಗಳ ಕಾವ್ಯ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡುತ್ತಾ ರಾಮಾಯಣದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾನರ ಸೈನ್ಯವು ಸಮುದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇತುವೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟದಿರಲಿ. ವಾಮನಾವತಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಮನನು ಆಕಾಶವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಮುಟ್ಟಲಿ ಮುಟ್ಟದಿರಲಿ. ಮಹಾಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಅರ್ಜುನನು ಶಿವನ ಗಂಟಲನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿ ಮೆಟ್ಟಲಿ ಮೆಟ್ಟದಿರಲಿ. ಆದರೆ ಕವಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೃತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾನರ ಸೈನ್ಯದಿಂದ ಸಮುದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇತುವೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿದರು; ವಾಮನನ ಕಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಆಕಾಶವನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿದರು; ಅರ್ಜುನನ ಕಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಶಿವನ ಗಂಟಲನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿ ಮೆಟ್ಟಿದರು; ಇದು ಕವಿಗಳ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ/ಅಗ್ಗಳಿಕೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

ಸಾರಾಂಶ: ಮಹಲಿಂಗರಂಗನು ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಸರಳತೆ, ಮಧುರತೆ, ಶಕ್ತಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವರ್ಣಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಸುಲಿದ ಬಾಳೆಯ ಹಣ್ಣಿನಂತೆ; ಸಿಗುರು ತೆಗೆದ ಕಬ್ಬಿನಂತೆ; ಶಾಖ ಆರಿಹೋಗಿ ತಣ್ಣಗಾದ ಹಾಲಿನಂತೆ ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿರುವ, ಸುಲಲಿತವಾಗಿರುವ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಅರಿತು, ಮೋಕ್ಷವನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಸಾಲದೇ? ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತಹುದು ಏನಿದೆ? ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಮುಕ್ತಿ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲೇ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸಿ ಮುಕ್ತಿ ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದಲ್ಲವೇ? ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತದಲ್ಲೇ ಶ್ಲೋಕ ಹೇಳಬೇಕೆಂದೇನಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಭಾಷೆಯಷ್ಟೇ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಗೂ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ಕವಿ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

ಸಾರಾಂಶ: ಆಂಡಯ್ಯ ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡಿನ ಸಸ್ಯ ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಕನ್ನಡನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ; ಸಂಪಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ; ಕೆಂಪಾದ ತೆಂಗು ಅಲ್ಲದೆ; ಮಾವು ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಅಡಿಕೆ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ; ಗಿಡಮರಗಳೇ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ವರ್ಣಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತಮ ಫಲ ನೀಡುವಂತಹ ಸಸ್ಯಗಳು ಸಮೃದ್ಧವಾಗಿವೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಆಂಡಯ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡಿನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಇದ್ದ ಅಭಿಮಾನವನ್ನೂ ಅಂದಿನ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನೂ ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
