In this poem, the poetess shows similarity between grass and a woman.  Just like grass is crushed by boots, women are crushed by men's dominance. Just like grass is burnt by the Sun, woman is tortured by the anger of men.  She sees the lawnmower cutting the grass and it reminds him of men cutting a woman's desires and emotions.  She advises women to bear the suffering and grow again and again like the grass.
