1.As the name indicates amphibians can live in aquatic as well as terrestrial habitats. Most of them have two pairs of limbs. Body is divisible into head and trunk. Tail may be present in some. The amphibians skin us moist without scales, the ayes have eyelids, tympanum, alimentary canal, urinary bladder, respiration by lungs or gills, the heart is three-chambered, and are cold blooded. Sexes are separate, fertilisation is external and they are oviparous and development is indirect.

Examples, bufo(toad), rana(frog), hyla(tree frog) etc.

2.Class reptiles refers to their creeping or crawling mode of locomotion. They are mostly terrestrial and their body is covered by dry and cornified skin, epidermal scales and scutes. They do not have external ear openings. Limbs is present are two pairs, heart is usually

three-chambered, but four-chambered in crocodiles. They are cold-blooded, sexes are separate, fertilisation is internal and they are oviparous and development is direct.

Example, turtle, crocodile,etc.

3.The characteristic feature are the presence of feathers and most of them can fly except flight less bird, the forelimbs are modified into wings, the hind limbs generally have scales are modified for walking, swimming, clasping the tree branches. Skin is dry except oil gland at the base of the tail. Endoskeleton, air cavities are present the digestive tracts has additional chambers, heart is completely four-chambered, lungs for respiration, sexes are separate, fertilisation is internal, they are oviparous and development is direct.

4.They are found in variety of habitats-polar ice caps, deserts, mountains, forests, grasslands and dark caves. Some can fly or live in water. The most unique mammalian characteristics is the presence of mammary glands(milk producing gland)for nourishing their young ones. They have two pairs of limbs, they can walk, swim, climb, burrowing, or flying. The skin is unique possess hair. External ears pinnae are present. Heart is four-chambered, respiration by lungs, sexes are separate, warm-blooded, fertilisation is internal, they are viviparous with few exceptions and development is direct.

Example, Platypus, kangaroo, flying fox, etc.
