Answer:

There are 20 students in class q.

Given Data:

N (students in class p) = 30

N (students in class p like music) = 20

N (students in class q who like music) = 10

N (students in class q) be 'x'.

Average number of students who like music in a class = 16

Step 1:

According to question, we have that

\frac{20 \times 30+10 \times x}{30+x}=16

Step 2:

\frac{600+10 x}{30+x}=16

600 + 10x = 16(30 + x)

Step 3:

600 + 10x = 480 + 16x

600 – 480 = 16x – 10x

120 = 6x

X = \frac{120}{6}= 20
