Let no of questions done correctly be x and no of questions attempted incorrectly be y. Then, ATQ,

3x-2y=20 (1)

Given that x= 12, so

Eqn (1) becomes

3(12)-2y=20

36-2y=20

36-20=2y

16=2y

y=8.

Hence, no of questions done incorrectly are 8.
