(i)The elements or compounds of the metals which occur in nature in the earth crust are called minerals.
example:- aluminium
(ii)The minerals from which the metals are extracted without economical loss are called ore.
example:- bauxite
(iii)The impurities like clay are called gangue.
example:- sand and soil.

1) Mineral => naturally occuring chemical substances in te earths crust obtainable by mining
The best example of mineral can be aluminium
2) ore =>> ores are minerals from which the metals are economiically and profitabily extracted
Example can be bauxite
All ores are minerals but all minerals are not ores
3) Gangue => the earthly matter or unwanted materials present in the ore
Example can be mud , soil etc
