Class X : The following questions refer to the periodic table:
(i) Name the second last element of the period 3.
(ii) How many elements are in the second period?
(iii) Name the element which has the highest electron affinity.
(iv) Name the element which has the highest electro negativity.
(v) Name the element which may be placed on group 1 but is not a metal.

Very Good Question. Thanks for asking it..

1.Second last element of third period is chlorine with atomic number 17.

2. Second period contains 8 elements from Li to Ne

3. Chlorine has highest electron affinity.

4. Flourine has highest electro negativity.

5.Group I is the Alkali metals . So the element is Hydrogen which is placed in Group 1 and period 1 but it is not included as Alkali metal.
