The functional unit of a kidney is nephrons.

The nephrons help in the process of removing urea and other nitrogenous wasted from the blood.

The two main processes involved in this is : Ultrafiltration and Reabsorption.

In the process ultrafiltration, the blood is under high pressure near the bowman's capsule due to which the waste materials in the blood is removed and sent into tublules.

In the other process that is reabsorption, the water and other good nutrients are reabsorbed in the loop of Henle.

Then the final waste is collected in the collecting duct and further removed from the body.
