Sterilisation is the process of freeing of an article from all living organisms, including viruses, bacteria and their spores, fungi and their spores, both pathogens and non-pathogens. Sterility is an absolute state. An article can never be “relatively sterile”.

There are three methods of sterilization in women: through tubal ligation, tubal implants, or a hysterectomy.
