Hey friend,

Here is the answer :-

➡ The organic compounds obtained from the simple combination of hydrogen and carbon are called hydrocarbons.

Hydrocarbon is usually divided into two categories - 1. Aliphatic hydrocarbon. 2. Aromatic hydrocarbon.

Alkane, Alkene and Alkyne are classified as the Aliphatic hydrocarbons.

ALKANE : This is a saturated hydrocarbon which is also known as Paraffin. General formula of the member of this series of saturated hydrocarbons is given by : (C)n(H)2n+2 ; where n is the number of member of the series.

Organic compounds like Methane, ethane, propane, butane, pentane etc. are saturated hydrocarbons in which all carbon atoms are attached with single covalent bond.

ALKENE : The compounds of unsaturated hydrocarbon in which carbon atoms have double covalent bonds are called alkene or oleffin. General formula for the members of this series is (C)n(H) 2n.

Organic compound Ethylene is an example of alkene.

ALKYNE : The compounds of unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon in which carbon atoms have triple covalent bonds is called acetylenic or alkynes. The general formula for the members of this series is (C)n(H)2n-2.

Organic compound acetylene or ethylene is an example of this hydrocarbon.

I hope this will help you....
