In order for us to understand how all living organisms are related, they are arranged into different groups.Animals are classified into many groups starting with animal kingdom:
Kingdom,Phylum,class,order,family,genus,and species
they even further classified as :
vertebrates - animals with backbone(eg: tiger,lion,etc) and
invertebrate- animals without backbone(eg: silkworm,bed bug,etc)
they are even classified in basis of they eat as:
herbivorous - only plant eating animals (eg: cow,horse,buffalo,etc)
carnivorous - only flesh or meat eating animals (eg : lion,vulture,etc)
omnivorous - both plant and meat eating animals ( eg: crow , robins, etc)

On the basis of food:
1.herbivores : the animals that eat plants only
2. Carnivores: the animals that other animals only
3.omnivores: the animals that eat both plants and animals
4.scavengers: the animals that eat dead and decaying animals.
5. Parasites: small animals living in our outside of other alive organisms.
