Explanation:

Classification of wave are :

MECHANICAL WAVE :

When the medium of particles vibrate , there is a change in kinetic energy into the potential energy and vice versa so sound wave also called the elastic or mechanical wave.

THE MECHANICAL WAVE ARE TWO TYPE :

TRANSVERSE WAVE :

IF the medium of particles vibrate normal to the direction of propagation of the wave forming crest and trough the wave is called transverse wave.

LONGITUDINAL WAVE :

If the vibration of medium particles are along the direction of propagation of the wave ,thus forming compression and rarefactions in the medium , the wave is called longitudinal wave
