Classification of Animals (on the basis of eating habits) the animals can be divided into three categories namely; Herbivorous animals, omnivorous animals and carnivorous animals.

Herbivorous animals:

Herbs means plants, as clear from its name, Herbivorous animals are those animals that feed on plants, they may also feed on grains bushes or whatever that grows on plants. Their teeth are modified into such structure that support chewing.

Examples:

It’s example include animals like cows, goats, sheep etc.

Omnivorous animals:

Omnivorous animals are those animals that feed on both plants and meat. Since, the feeding habit of omnivorous animals includes both meat and plants so their teeth structure is as that it supports both chewing and shearing of food. So some of the teeth are pointy and sharp (like canines) and some are good for chewing (like the molars and prmolar teeth).

Examples:

The example of such animals include bear crows human etc.

Carnivorous animals:

Carnivorous animals include all those animals that feed on meat. The teeth of carnivorous animals are modified according to their feeding habit that is, their teeth are pointy and sharp. These teeth help them chew the food easily.

Examples:

Lions leopards cheaters Jaguar dog etc are the example of carnivorous animals.

Herbivores- Animals that only eat plant.

Carnivores – Animals eat only other animals.

Omnivores- Animals that eat both plants and animals.

Detrivores or Scavengers- Animals that eat the remains of died animal.

Terrestrial Animals: – Animals which can only live on Land.

Aquatic Animals: – Animals which can only live on Water.

Amphibians: – Animals which can live both on land and on water.

For Example: FROGS, TOADS, SALAMANDERS etc

Arboreal Animals: – Animals which live primarily on trees.
