Difference between state legislature and Parliament are as follows.... Show the houses of Parliament are Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha and this means that parliament is same thing to that of Legislature but the main differences that Parliament is like a umbrella term for legislature.

I think you are a student of class vIII State legislature is the platform of decision making (government) in state level. Where all laws are formed to govern that state. These laws are based on state subject. MLA s are the members of this assembly . But Parliament is the platform of decision making in national level .what laws are formed here they are functioned in throughout the country. MPs are the members of parliament.
