Carbon:-

atomic no:-6

valency:-4

carbon is non -metal

electronic configuration:-2,4

carbon is the only atom who can shares it's electons .

carbon can neither take 4 electrons nor except 4 electrons .

becuse of two reasons

carbon is veey small atom so, it's too difficult for carbon to gave it's 4 electrons becuse it need much energy to loss 4 electons.

and it can't accept 4 electons because it's too difficult for 6 protons to hold 10 electrons

so carbon can only shares it's electons.
