Flowering plants can be classified on the basis of cotyledons present in them into two categories:
Monocots:
- Have only one cotyledon present in them. Ex- Maize
- They have parallel venation in their leaves.
- No stock is present in them.
Dicots:
- Have two cotyledons present in the.Ex- Pea
- They have reticulate venation in them.
- Stock is present.
