● THE GREATER HIMALAYAS (HIMANDRI)

●THE LESSER HIMALAYAS ( HIMACHAL)

●THE OUTER HIMALAYAS (SHIVALIK)

☆ THE GREATER HIMALAYAS ARE THE HIGHEST PEAKS IN THE WORLD - MT EVEREST (8,848m) IS LOCATED IN THIS RANGE.THE GLACIERS IN THE HIMANDRI ARE THE SOURCE OF MANY RIVERS. THE IMP. ONES ARE GANGOTRI AND THE YAMUNOTRI.

☆ THE LESSER HIMALAYAS HAS AVERAGE HEIGHT 4500M . MANY HILL STATIONS SUCH AS SHIMLA AND MANALI ARE LOCATED HERE.

☆ THE OUTER HIMALAYAS IS LESS THAN 1250M. IT IS MADE UP OF LOOSE AND SOFT ROCKS. THERE ARE MANY BROAD VALLEYS SUCH AS DEHRADUN.
