The figure above shows the location of meristematic tissue in a plant body, in which -
i) Apical meristem- apical meristem is present at the growing tips of stems and roots and increase the length of the steam and the root.
ii) Intercalary meristem- the growth of the stem or root increases due to lateral meristem.
iii) Lateral meristem - intercalary meristem is the medicity at the base of the leaves or internodes on twigs.
