The sunken areas are called grabens. The Rhine Valley and Vosges mountains are examples of graben and horst.Volcanic mountain: These have their origin due to volcanic activity. Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa and Mt. Fujiyama in Japan are examples of volcanic mountains.
