Classification of acids depends on their strength. There are two types of acids- strong acids and weak acids on the basis of ionization in water.
When it comes to strong acid, it gets ionized in an aqueous solution. Example- Hydrogen chloride and chloride ions ionize into hydrogen and water respectively.
In the case of weak acids, they donot ionize completely in the water. Acetic acid is an example of a weak acid as it ionizes incompletely.
