Luminous objects are those which emit their own light and non-luminous objects are those which don't emit their own light. Moon is non-luminous because it reflects the light of the sun and
doesn't have one of its own!
Objects that cannot emit light energy by themselves are known as non-luminous objects. These objects can cause the sensation of light. These objects do not cause the sensation of light. The luminous objects are visible as they emit light on their own. The non-luminous objects are visible because of luminous objects.
The moon and plants are the two examples.
