the fibers which are obtained from plants and animals are called natural fibers but those which are not obtained these resources are called synthetic fibers.

natural fibers : wool, cotton, silk, jute

synthetic fibers: nylon, polyester, coir

Common and natural geotextile material are jute and coir which are biodegradable and abunduntly. avaialable in india. Syntheic geotextiles are mostly based on polypropline , polyster, polymaid fiber or high density polythelyene either in woven , short or tape form.
