so2 - acidic (forms h2so4 on adding water converting it into acid)
similarly,
na2 - basic
co2 - acidic
mg2- basic
fe2o3- acidic
p2o6- basic
(not confirm about the last 2)

The acidic oxides are: SO_{2}, CO_{2}, P_{2}0_{5}, Fe_{2}0_{3} and the basic oxides are: Na_{2}O, MgO.

EXPLANATION:

  • Acidic oxide compounds “react with water to form an ACIDS” and “Basic oxides react with water to form an ALKALIS substance”.
  • Acidic oxides are also called as ACID ANHYDRIDES, the basic oxides are known as BASE ANHYDRIDES.
  • The Acidic oxides always react with non-metal, the basic oxides react with metal. The basic oxides increase the PH level when added to water. Simply, the acidic will decrease PH level when added to water.
