Meaning-
Communication is the process of exchanges of ideas, thoughts, message or any considered information in a certain manner with specific possible methods as per the need of the time.
when we talk about the communication occurring in any professional organization has different phases.

1- Communication-Based on the Channel is -
a) Formal communication refers to the communication done in an organization through the white-collars of the business.
b) Informal communication - This communication done within the working parties of any firm or organization. they are a general communication.
2- Communication-Based of Directions-
a) Upward Communication - When the communication starts from the blue collars employees to the white collars. this communication is generally are feedback, complaints, and suggestion for working of the firm.
b) Downward Communication - When the official message regarding the working of firm by the white-collar employees ( CEO,S, General Manager, etc.)
c) Diagonal Communication - When a department manager of one department comes in contact with another department's sub-ordinates or superior is said to be diagonal communication.
d) Horizontal Communication- When two departments employees come in contact at the same level is said to be horizontal communication.
Communication-Based on Mode-
a) Interpersonal Communication- When two people communicating about a specific subject and its causes.
b) Interpretive Communication - When the decoding of the message provided by the person itself is said to be interpretive.
c) Presentational Communication - When the communication is done with help visual presentation at a large scale of the audience.

(b) The supervisor sending an explanation to the General Manager stating the performance of his department - Here, the direction of communication is upward, its channel is formal and its mode is interpretive.
(c) The sales assistants discussing with his friend regarding customers’ behavior - This is a channel of informal communication due to which mode and direction cant be measured.
(d) A typist informs his fellow typist during the lunch-break about the rude behavior of her supervisor - This also informal in the channel whereas its direction is horizontal due to communication happening between his fellow members and its mode is interpersonal.
(e) A boss frowning at his subordinate for a job done wrongly -The channel is formal and its direction is downwards and its mode to be interpersonal communication.
