Lemon juice, Tap water, Milk, and Vinegar are Good Conductors of electricity. Distilled water, Honey, Kerosene oil, and Vegetable oil are Poor Conductors of electricity.

  • Lemon juice, Tap water, Milk, and Vinegar contain free mobile (free to move) ions which help in the conduction of electricity making these good conductors of electricity.
  • Distilled water, Honey, Kerosene oil, and Vegetable oil do not contain any free ions due to which they are not able to conductor electricity efficiently. Hence, these are poor conductors of electricity.

The classification of which is good and bad conductor is given below:

Good Conductors:

Lemon Juice

Tap Water

Milk

Vinegar

Reason: Lemon Juice is a good conductor; the reason being that this contains citrus acid in it thus having the H+ ions and hence conducts electricity. Tap water contains various ions and that is why it can conduct electricity. Milk has lactic acid and other salts in it so it can conduct electricity. Vinegar has the ability of releasing H+ and CH3COO- ions and because of this it can also conduct current.

Bad Conductors:

Distilled water

Honey

Kerosene Oil

Vegetable Oil

Reason: Distilled water lacks ions. Honey also does not have any kinds of ions. Kerosene oil is a mineral salt which is pure type due to which it is a good insulator and not a conductor.
