Answer:

Classification of natural resources on the basis of origin:

Abiotic Resource: Resources which come from non-living sources are called abiotic resources, e.g. soil, rocks and minerals.

Biotic Resource: Resources which come from living beings are called biotic resource, e.g. milk, leather, timber, etc.

These resources, called productive resources, are often classified into three groups: natural resources, human resources, and capital resources. Natural resources (often called land) refer to resources such as coal, water, trees, and land itself. Raw materials used in production come from natural resources.

Natural resources can be classified as potential, actual, reserve, or stock resources based on their stage of development. Natural resources are either renewable or non-renewable depending on whether or not they replenish naturally. Natural resource utilization is regulated through the use of taxes and permits.

Types of Natural Resources. All Natural Resources fall under two main categories: Renewable and Non-renewable Resources. ... Non-renewable resources are those that cannot easily be replaced once they are destroyed. Examples include fossil fuels.
