Based on origin, resources can be classified into two:

▪Biotic

▪Abiotic

• Biotic: A biotic resource is a living or once-living organism in the ecosystem. Example: birds,plants, fungi, and other similar organisms.

• Abiotic: An abiotic resource is non-living.  Example: air, soil, sunlight, and minerals.
