classroom study or self study which is the better way to learn for debate competition

If you do self study and don't pay much attention in class which shouldn't happen...
Still you can cope up with your required syllabus
If we do self study we can explore new techniques of learning whereas if you go only for classroom study then it may happen that your knowledge will be limited and would be only realted to your syllabus
If we are preparing for IIT then however much we go for coaching classes, if we totally depend on it....
We would not be able to crack them
It is very important to do self study either we won't stand anywhere in today's competitive world

I think classroom study is better way to learn..... As if we are in a classroom we have different types of classmates from different-different places, some are intelligent and some are not. But they have one thing special in them . If we are studying in a class than everyone will give their point of view regarding the topic and we can learn easily and faster than self study . If Thier are different type of classmates they will teach u some good topics which u may don't know earlier . When u r doing self study , at a point of time u r getting bored , and than u r distracted by one or another thing such as phone ,etc but in classroom u won't . And if u study something in classroom and u have doubt regarding anything u can ask it immediately and clear ur doubts . While doing self study u can't ask . If u study in classroom than sometimes there is a feeling of competition and student start doing more and more practice to achieve better marks than others.....
