Given:

Stephanie sells bags of different kinds of cookies.

She made $27 selling bags of  Oreos, $18 selling chocolate chip cookies and $45 selling Chunky sugar cookies.

Each bag of  cookies cost the same amount.

To find:

The maximum amount that Stephanie could charge for each bag of cookies

Solution:

Here to solve the above-given problem, we have to find the Highest Common Factor of the given amounts i.e., $27, $18 & $ 45 that she made by selling bags of oreo, chocolate chip and chunky sugar respectively.

We will now find the H.C.F of 27, 18 & 45 by prime factorisation method:

Factors:

27 = 3 × 3 × 3

18 = 2 × 3 × 3

45 = 3 × 3 × 5

H.C.F.:

∴ H.C.F. (27, 18 & 45) = 3 × 3 = 9

Thus, the most that Stephanie could charge for each bag of cookies is $9.
