5x^2 - 6x - 2 = 0
Step 1.) Transfer the constant term in RHS
=> 5x^2 - 6x = 2
Step 2.) Divide the whole equation by the coficient of x square .
=> x^2 - 6x/5 = 2/5
Step 3.) Add the square of half of the coficient of x in both sides.
=> x^2 - 6x/5 + (3/5)^2 = 2/5 + (3/5)^2
=> ( x - 3/5)^2 = 2/5 + 9 /25
=> ( x - 3/5)^2 = (10+9) / 25
=> (x- 3/5)^2 = 19/25
=> x - 3/5 = sqrt ( 19 / 25)
=> x = 3/5 plus minus sqrt (19) / 5
x = (3 + sqrt 19) /5
And
x = (3 - sqrt 19) / 5
