because Carbon monoxide is more soluble in blood than oxygen or Carbon dioxide...
actually... CO binds to the protein in haemoglobin and can change and reduces it's further binding capacity of O2 with haemoglobin by forming
DEOXY-HAEMOGLOBIN
and as a result of which O2 cannot be transported to tissues and CO2 cannot be removed from tissue. as the haemoglobin are already occupied by CO...
