Correct Question :- co-ordinates of a and b are (1,2) and (2,3) point c lies between a and b such that ac+cb=ab and ac/ab = 3/4 . Find coordinates of C ?

Solution :-

→ AC + CB = AB

and,

→ AC/AB = 3/4

→ AB/AC = 4/3

→ (AC + CB)/AC = 4/3

→ 1 + CB/AC = 4/3

→ CB/AC = 4/3 - 1

→ CB/AC = 1/3

→ AC : CB = 3 : 1

now, let us assume that, coordinates of C are (x, y) .

then,

→ x = (3 * 2 + 1 * 1)/(3 + 1) = (6 + 1)/4 = (7/4)

→ y = (3 * 3 + 1 * 2)/(3 + 1) = (9 + 2)/4 = (11/4)

therefore, the coordinates of C are (7/4, 11/4) .
