CO₂, CCl₄, CHCl₃ are all chemical compounds and are dipole movements. In CO2, and CCl4, all polar bonds possess the same value of dipole moment, thus the overall dipole moment of the molecule is found to be zero. CHCl3 has a non-zero dipole moment.

Whereas in the case of CO, the dipole moment is equal to the dipole moment of C−O bond.
