CO2 is a gas justify the given statement by two reasons

The reason why carbon dioxide is a gas and silicon dioxide is a solid isbecause their chemical structures are different. Carbon dioxide is a linear structure with two double bonds between carbon and oxygen. It is a small molecule and non-polar with only weak bonds between the molecules. Hence it is a gas.

1) CO2 is not visible and which means it has large intermolecular spaces so it is a gas.

2) CO2 is made of one carbon and 2 oxygen molecules so the gas molecules dominate and hence it is a gas.
