Coal is said to be formed from the wood of trees. Why then is coal considered to be a non-renewable sources of energy whereas wood is a renewable sources of energy?

coal is called non renewable source of energy beacuse it is present in a limited quantity inside the earth

and making of coal takes millions of years

so coal is not renewable resource
