The Cabinet Mission Plan was sent to India in 1946 to discuss the transfer of Power from the British Government to Indian Leadership with aims to preserve India's Unity and Freedom. It was formulated by British Prime Minister Clement Attlee.

Reasons

a) The Colonial Govenment's decision of Trials of INA Comrades raised Public agitation against Colonial Government in large Number of people participation in Protests.

b) The other Mutinies such as Royal Indian Navy mutiny alarmed the Colonial Government about a Mutiny similar to 1857 with People support to Army.

c) The change in Government in Britain and Election of Sir Clement Attlee who was in favour of Independent India.

d) The pressure from America and Russia on Britain to free India has left no other choice.

How Mass based INA agitations led to sending of cabinet Mission

a) The British feared a More Violent and Mass Supported Movement as the INA Comrades were regarded as Heroes of the Nation and they inspired many others.

b) The Mission was sent to devise a Middle Path between Indian National Congress and Muslim League to frame Indian COnstitution and Transfer of Powers.

The INA trials led to People participation in Freedom Struggle and the Comrades inspired many.

Thus the INA trials were very much responsible for Colonial Policy of sending Cabinet Misssion to India.
