Given :  f(x) = x(x-1)(x - 2)

To find : Values of f(x) for  x=-0.2 , 0.1 , 0.2  , up to 3 decimal points

Solution:

f(x) = x(x-1)(x - 2)

x = -0.2

=> f(-0.2)  = (-0.2) (-0.2 - 1)(-0.2 - 2)

= (-0.2) (-1.2)(-2.2)

= - (0.2)(1.2)(2.2)

= - 2 (12)(22) / 1000

= -0.528

x =  0.1

=> f( 0.1)  = ( 0.1) ( 0.1 - 1)( 0.1 - 2)

= ( 0.2) (-0.9)(-1.9)

=   (0.2)(0.9)(1.9)

=   2 (9)(19) / 1000

=  0.342

x =  0.2

=> f( 0.2)  = ( 0.2) ( 0.2 - 1)( 0.2 - 2)

= ( 0.2) (-0.8)(-1.8)

=   (0.2)(0.8)(1.8)

=   2 (8)(18) / 1000

=  0.288

x            -0.2            0.1              0.2

f(x)         -0,528       0.342         0.288
