Answer: (x/2 - y/2)^2

=(\frac{x}{2} ) ^{2} +(\frac{y}{2} )^{2} +2(\frac{x}{2})(\frac{y}{2})

=\frac{x^{2} }{4} +\frac{y}{4} ^{2} +\frac{xy}{2}

coefficient of x^{2} is  \frac{1}{4}.
