Definition of Coelom

It is a fluid filled cavity between the body wall and digestive tract. The internal organs are suspended in it. Based on coelom animals can be:

  1. Acoelomate
  2. Pseudocoelomate
  3. Eucoelomate
  4. Haemocoelomate

Functions of coelom:

  1. Provides space for body organs to remain suspended and compartmentalised.
  2. Coelom acts as shock absorber.
  3. Provides medium for circulation
  4. Temporary storage of wastes.
  5. Site of maturation of gametes.

In platyhelminthes coelom is absent. The space between body organs and body wall is filled with mesenchyme or parenchyma derived from embryonic mesoderm.

Therefore the answer is Platyhelminthes.
