Coffee costing ₹450 per kg was mixed with Chicory costing ₹225 per kg in ratio 5:2 for a certain blend. If the mixture was sold at ₹405 per kg, find the gain or loss per cent. ​

cost price of 1kg coffee = rs. 450

cost of 1kg of chicory = rs. 225

Total cost price = 5 × 450 + 2 × 225

⇒ 2250 + 450 = Rs. 2700

cp of 7kg of coffee mix = 2700

sp of 1kg of coffee mix = 405

7kg of coffee mis = 7 × 405 = Rs. 2835

 

Here, S.P > C.P

Gain = 2835 - 2700 = 135

Gain% = (135/2700) × 100 = 5%
