Low resistance or distributive shock occurs when the blood volume is normal but the capacity of the circulation is increased by marked vasodilation. It is also called "warm shock" because the skin is not cold and clammy ,as it is in hypovolemic shock

Cold shock, also known as hypovolemic shock is caused due to low blood volume leading to a reduction in cardiac output.

It maybe classified into several categories based on the cause- trauma, surgery, burns, and hemorrhage.

The characteristic symptoms for this are: intense thirst, restlessness, rapid pulse, and a cold and pale skin.
