The natural indicator in flowers is hibiscus.

Hibiscus which is also called as shoe flower is in red color when it comes in touch with the acid, it turns into purple color, and if it comes in contact with the base then it turns into red color again.

This is the best way to know whether the substance is acid or base without the necessity of the litmus paper.
